Traveling with my dog, Max, has always been a rewarding experience, and one of the most exciting destinations for pet-friendly travel is Nigeria. In the capital city of Abuja, Jabi Lake is another fantastic location for dogs. This scenic area offers a mix of green spaces and walking paths around the lake, where you can enjoy a peaceful walk with your pet. Jabi Lake Mall nearby also allows dogs, making it an ideal spot for pet parents to shop and dine while their dogs enjoy the fresh air. With pet-friendly cafes around, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal or coffee with your furry companion.
3. Tarkwa Bay Beach, Lagos

Max had an amazing time running around and even taking a dip in the water, which made for a fun day in the sun. For a family-friendly and pet-friendly getaway, Omu Resort in Lagos is another great option. The resort has vast grounds where your dog can run around and enjoy the outdoor spaces. Omu Resort also has an animal park, where Max was able to see and interact with other animals, making it a fun and engaging experience for pets and their owners alike.
5. The National Park, Cross River State
For adventurous dog owners who enjoy hiking, Cross River State’s National Park offers lush trails and beautiful views. While exploring the park with Max, I loved the serene surroundings and the opportunity for both of us to enjoy nature. The park’s well-maintained trails make it a great location for a dog-friendly hike.
